If you’ve followed this link you may wonder: “what is life beyond sight?”

You’re probably imagining the phrase has spiritual and philosophical implications, and, indeed, you are correct.   That’s part of our reason for being here, so explore dimensions beyond what we so easily see.

But it’s also more than that – and, in this case it’s more to do with ordinary life, though it’s no less spiritual or philosophical really in the end.

Our particular reason for the title: “Life Beyond Sight” involves pointing to and then exploring what life is and can be like for those possessing little or no physical vision either from the beginning of life or from some point later in life.  Most of us experience vision loss at some point following age sixty or so, but, for many of us this loss comes earlier, while, for some of us limited to no vision at all is what we always know and take for the ground of our experience.

More than being a deprivation, as most people would assume it to be, experiencing life with little or no vision opens us to dimensions that might otherwise be obliterated by physical vision, as, in its full power, physical vision dominates our other senses and faculties to the point where they may be nearly dormant during most of our conscious experience.

We are therefore here to explore experiences and dimensions of “life beyond sight” by joining our experiences together through all our sharing.  Anyone is welcome to post comments here and to write lead articles.  We also welcome all who wish to simply read and take in all they can from others.

Finally, but most significantly, this site will serve as an information sources for products and services that enhance life with increased accessibility for those with limited or no vision.  Knowledge is always power in the greatest sense.  Whatever assists some of us may indeed assist us all in the end.

Certainly, all our sharing will enhance our wider communities as we grow together in understanding and appreciation of all our experiences, no matter what their origin.
